The future of pilgrimage tourism in Bulgaria is being discussed in Stara Zagora

A forum on "Pilgrimage tourism in Bulgaria - prospects for development" will be held today in Stara Zagora. The emphasis will be placed on attracting tourists to the unique Museum of Religions in Stara Zagora, which displays preserved local religious elements from different era.

There are over 4,000 sites for pilgrimage tourism in Bulgaria. Among them is the "Holy Virgin - Annunciation" church in Assenovgrad, known as the Fish Church. In it there is an icon of the Holy Virgin immersed in a pool in which fish swim.
