Weather forecast: A cold front ushers in rain and thunderstorms

During the night a cold atmospheric front over Western and Central Bulgaria will usher in significant rain, thunderstorms and hail, which will spread to Northeastern Bulgaria by morning. The wind will turn from the West-Northwest and will pick up. Minimum temperatures 13°-18° C., for Sofia around 13° C.

Tomorrow, 2 October, there will be a moderate to strong wind from the West- Northwest which will usher in colder air. The rain will stop from the West, and the clouds will begin to scatter. The rain will continue into the afternoon in Eastern Bulgaria, with thunder and hail in some parts, but by afternoon the clouds will begin to disperse there as well. Daytime temperatures will reach 18°-19° C. on higher ground in Western Bulgaria, and up to 26° C. in the Southeastern part of the country, for Sofia around 18° C.

Over the mountains there will be a strong to tempestuous wind. The rain will stop by midday and the clouds will gradually disperse from West to East. Maximum temperature at an altitude of 1,200 m. around 15° C., at 2,000 m.around 7° C.
