Ahead of the ceremony for the official launch of the Greece-Bulgaria gas interconnector, Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev held a working meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, the presidential press service has reported.

President Radev acquainted Ursula von der Leyen with the proposal for the gas transmission operators of Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary to increase the transmission of natural gas from Azerbaijan to Europe using the national gas transmission systems. In this way, with only slight modifications of the networks, the delivery of gas to the EU countries can be speeded up along already existing reliable and secure infrastructure.
