The Ukrainian forces have broken through the Russian defence in Kherson region. According to information from Russian sources, they have retaken Dudchany on the right bank of the Dnieper River and are now likely to advance to Berislav and Novaya Kakhovka. The Ukrainian forces are advancing in two directions from Lyman and Kupyansk and towards the logistics hub Svatovo. Ukrainian reconnaissance groups are reconnoitering Kreminna and are attempting to advance to Severodonetskand Lysychansk in Luhansk region.

In his nightly video address, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Armed Forces were successfully continuing their counteroffensive. “Fierce fighting continues in many areas of the front,” he said. “More and more Russians are trying to escape, the invading army is suffering more and more losses.”, adding there was an increasing understanding in Russia, that it had made a mistake by launching a war against Ukraine.

Billionaire Elon Musk sparked a storm of indignation after posting a Tweet:
“Redo elections of annexed regions under UN supervision. Russia leaves if that is will of the people.
- Crimea formally part of Russia, as it has been since 1783 (until Khrushchev’s mistake).
- Water supply to Crimea assured.
- Ukraine remains neutral.”

In a follow-up Tweet, Musk wrote: “This is highly likely to be the outcome in the end – just a question of how many die before then.”

In response President Zelensky posted a Twitter poll asking “which Elon Musk to you like more?" with answers: “one who supports Ukraine" or "one who supports Russia.”

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba on his part reacted on Twitter: “Those who propose Ukraine to give up on its people and land — presumably not to hurt Putin’s bruised ego or to save Ukraine from suffering — must stop using word “peace” as an euphemism to “let Russians murder and rape thousands more innocent Ukrainians, and grab more land”.

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda also responded with the words: “When someone tries to steal the wheels of your Tesla, it doesn't make them legal owner of the car or of the wheels. Even though they claim both voted in favor of it. Just saying.”
