Controversy in Sofia City Council over the flag of Ukraine

Sofia city councillors have once again been divided over the Ukrainian flag on the facade of the Sofia City Council.

At today's session of the Council Borislav Ivanov from the group "Patriots for Sofia" asked why the report on the removal of the flag from the facade was not included in the agenda.

To this, Council Chairman Georgi Georgiev pointed out that there was a court case about the placement of the Ukrainian flag, which the municipality had won in the first instance.
Dissatisfied with the response, Ivan Takov of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) said that the flag was in violation of the law, while Greti Stefanova of Democratic Bulgaria retorted that the flag of Ukraine is a symbol of freedom and solidarity.
