NATO to discuss the risks of escalation in the Ukraine war

Caretaker Defence Minister Dimitar Stoyanov will represent Bulgaria at the Meeting of NATO Ministers of Defence on 12-13 October 2022 in Brussels, Belgium. The forum will discuss key issues on NATO's agenda related to the risks in the context of the war in Ukraine and the security implications for member states. A working dinner with the Minister of Defence of Ukraine is also on the agenda of Mr. Stoyanov.

Following the NATO Defence Ministers' Meeting, the Bucharest-9 (B-9) Defence Ministers (of Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania and Slovakia) will convene on 14 October, with the participation of US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.
