Chairman of the Sofia Municipal Council Georgi Georgiev has filed a report demanding the resignation of Borislav Ivanov as deputy chairman of the council and chairman of the Public Order and Security Committee.

Ivanov's resignation was also called for by councillors from the Democratic Bulgaria group because Ivanov had illegally broken into the office of the Sofia mayor, hacked into the Sofia municipality's computers and pulled down the flag of Ukraine from the facade of the city hall, Democratic Bulgaria claimed. They have reported the illegal actions to the police and the prosecutor's office.

Borislav Ivanov said he would take political responsibility and resign at the next session because he was aware of his wrongdoing, but did so to express his principled positions.
