This was announced by Nadezhda Yordanova from Democratic Bulgaria after a meeting of the parties represented in parliament. Asked by a journalist how this decision would be justified in the context of state protocol, she replied that "there are no written rules in this direction, there is no mandatory invitation list. It is up to the discretion of the host country who should be invited.
Yordanova added that the proposal of Democratic Bulgaria had received support from We Continue the Change, GERB and MRF. Vazrazhdane and BSP have objected to the decision. Bulgarian Rise said that "we should stick to the common European position".
