The US must pay for the delay in the delivery of the eight F-16 fighter jets ordered by Bulgaria, as well as for the aircraft that this country will have to rent to ensure the protection of its sky until the late order arrives. This is what Rumen Gechev of the Bulgarian Socialist Party and an MP in the new 48th parliament, has told BNR.

"The US government received 100% of the money and has not fulfilled its obligations to Bulgaria," Gechev said  He added his party would demand in parliament that former Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Defense Minister Krasimir Karakachanov be summoned to answer why they signed a contract without clauses for penalties.
