Bulgaria’s caretaker cabinet is proposing draft amendments to the Public Procurement Act which aim to end in-house procurement procedures and introduce sanctions for its violation, caretaker Ministe of Finance Rositsa Velkova anounced. Caretaker Premier Galab Donev commented that in-house procurement procedures have become an emblem of syphoning of funds.

The government has also approved the creation of an agency to investigate high-level corruption. If the Prosecutor's Office refuses to launch an investigation into the agency's probe, it will have the right to appeal.
