Bulgarian Parliament will consider the proposal to extend the validity of the 2022 budget

The law on the extension of provisions from the 2022 b state budget has been submitted to the National Assembly, BNR reported. The extended action should remain in place until a new act on the 2023 budget is passed.

Yesterday, the Tripartite Cooperation Council did not approve the draft due to the disagreement on the part of trade unions which said no income freeze should be allowed. However, employers are of the opinion that this is the only chance to avoid an even bigger deficit in the treasury.

The caretaker cabinet's motive for resorting to this option is that there is no parliamentary majority to support its proposed policies and it is within the powers of a regular government to prepare an entirely new budget for 2023.
