Schoolteacher from Svilengrad wins Enlightener of the Year award

An inspiring schoolteacher, historian and researcher from Svilengrad – Dimitar Gilev – won the audience vote in the Bulgarian National Radio’s national public campaign Enlightener of the Year, 2022.

“It is a huge honour for me, demonstrating that my work touches people,” Dimitar Gilev said after the award ceremony.

29-year old Gilev often teaches dressed in costumes from the past to make his teaching more authentic. He posts videos, articles and publications to his online platform Ancient Bulgaria which aim to awaken the Bulgarian people.
