Bulgaria cannot provide heavy weapons to Ukraine at this stage, as this would lead to the loss of its military capabilities, Interim Defense Minister Dimitar Stoyanov said. He left the plenary before the MPs voted on the proposal to provide military aid to Ukraine, describing it as "extremely conservative".

"We cannot give our S-300 missile complexes, the C-125 anti-aircraft missile system and the rest of our anti-aircraft missile systems, as well as the Su-25 and MiG-29 aircraft, before they are replaced by equivalent weapons," the minister said, adding that after making an analysis, the Defense Ministry would inform lawmakers what military assistance Bulgaria could provide to Ukraine.
