The new Omicron sub-variant of the coronavirus is not more severe, does not cause more mortality, but is genetically different from the other sub-variants and "avoids vaccines". This was explained by virologist Prof. Todor Kantardzhiev in an interview for BNT.
He added that a few days ago, the BQ.1 subvariant of Omicron was detected in the country, which began to dominate in some countries in Europe.
