Daniel Mitov of GERB called for the resignation of caretaker Minister of Interior Ivan Demerdzhiev and the chief secretary of the ministry over the murder of a police officer on the border with Turkey.

The request was not supported by "We Continue the Change" party. "We need to solve the problems and not focus on one person who has been in power for several months," party co-chair Kiril Petkov said.

"When a regular cabinet is formed, the caretaker one will be dissolved. We call on those MPs wanting resignations of caretaker ministers to make efforts to form a regular cabinet", the leader of the MRF Mustafa Karadayi said.

Demerdzhiev's resignation will not solve the problem, "Vazrazhdane" leader Kostadin Kostadinov said.
