The two Turkish citizens accused of the murder of junior inspector Petar Bachvarov are facing the court in Edirne, Turkey. During the search, the hunting rifle with which the border police officer was shot and 23 hunting cartridges were seized.

The perpetrators of the shooting on the Bulgarian-Turkish border have a police record for multiple thefts.

In the meantime, it became clear that Bulgaria has asked Turkey to conduct the investigation together. There is also a possibility that the detained Turkish citizens will be extradited and tried in Bulgaria, stated the Minister of the Interior Ivan Demerdzhiev.

Today, Bulgaria and Turkey agreed to establish a joint working group to fight organized crime, illegal immigration and customs frauds, which will meet every month.
