The former mayor of Sofia's Mladost district, Desislava Ivancheva, goes to prison for 6 years on charges of corruption. Her deputy, Bilyana Petrova - for 5 years, and the former mayor of Mladost district Petko Dyulgerov - for 4 years, were also sentenced to prison.

The three were detained in a ostentatious police action in the spring of 2018 on charges of receiving a 75,000-euro bribe from construction contractor Alexander Vaklin. Pre-marked notes were seized from the vehicle in which they were traveling.
The decision is final and not subject to appeal.
