There is no complete register of children with autism in Bulgaria. There is no information about their number, location, about their age, or about the good practices that need to be implemented. This is what Vice President Iliana Iotova said in Pleven at the opening of the Forum for Social Services and the third International Conference on Autism, organized by the "Autism Today" association.
Four centers for children with autism operate in this country. Institutional coordination is needed in the care provided to people with autism, who face bureaucracy and misunderstanding.
