In October 2022, Bulgarians made 15.3% more trips abroad compared to 2021. Visits by foreigners to Bulgaria rose by 49.2%, according to the National Statistical Institute. Most Bulgarians traveled to the neighboring Balkan countries. 160,600 traveled to Turkey and 145,100 went to Greece. The majority of guests who visited Bulgaria came from the EU - 46.4% or 392,700 people. The biggest number of foreign guests came from Turkey - 164,000 and from Romania 146,800.
