President Rumen Radev is to hand the first mandate for forming a government to the biggest political force in parliament GERB-SDS on Monday.

This is taking place two months after the snap election for parliament, and in the conditions of political instability and expectations of one more early election. “I hope the additional time I have given the parties has been made the best use of,” President Radev told reporters after taking part in the celebrations to mark the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Vassil Levski National Sports Academy.

The Bulgarian head of state said further that he will make up his mind whether to veto the amendments to the Election Code after he gets acquainted with them in more detail.
