Bulgaria’s National Assembly adopted a four-year excise duty calendar for cigarettes and other tobacco products. In the next 4 years, their prices will rise gradually.

The selling price of cigarettes in the premium segment will increase by 6-7 eurocents per year. The price of the cheapest cigarettes will increase by 10 eurocents per year. In 2026, these two types of cigarettes will cost 20 eurocents and respectively 40 eurocents more. The highest increase is registered in two categories - smokeless sticks and tobacco. The changes shall come into force in March 2023.
