Romanian hauliers call for abolition of border controls with Bulgaria

The National Union of Road Hauliers from Romania - UNTRR condemns Austria's vote against Romania's accession to the Schengen area and asks the Romanian government to lift border controls with Bulgaria. This is reported by the Romanian news agency Agerpress, quoted by BTA.

The change of rules at the end of the game for only some of the applicants proves a clearly unequal and preferential treatment, the carriers point out. "The UNTRR demands that the government of Romania, together with the government of Bulgaria, urgently and pragmatically resolve the issue of simplifying and ultimately abolishing border controls between the two countries," the appeal notes, stressing that carriers are the most affected by the negative Schengen decision.
