The parliamentary committee on defense adopted at second reading the draft on ratification of the agreement on the provision of Bulgarian military aid to Ukraine. Last Friday, the document was supported at first reading in the plenary hall with the votes of GERB-SDS, "We Continue the Change", MRF, "Democratic Bulgaria" and "Bulgarian Rise", while BSP and "Vazrazhdane" voted "against". The weapons that Bulgaria sends are generally used for the training of soldiers in NATO and EU member countries, caretaker Prime Minister Galab Donev said. According to him, Ukraine will receive small arms and ammunition.
According to caretaker Minister of Defense Dimitar Stoyanov, most of the weapons will be directly provided to Ukraine, while the rest will be used for the training mission in Poland or Germany. In order to send the weapons, however, one more step is required - the president must issue an executive order approving the law for ratification. "I am sure that the aid provided in the lists will not affect the defense capabilities of our army," the minister added.
