With 166 votes "for" and 48 votes "against", the Bulgarian National Assembly adopted at second reading the decision to send military aid to Ukraine. MPs of "Vazrazhdane" and BSP voted against the decision.
Defense Minister Dimitar Stoyanov said that Bulgaria has no abilities to provide heavy weaponry, just small arms and ammunition. Delyan Dobrev of GERB said that "the list of weapons provided to Ukraine is secret because we are ashamed of how little we give". He pointed out that last year Bulgaria produced $6 billion worth of weapons, while it gives aid totaling just 20 million. In the course of the debate it became clear that just 25 out of 240 MPs have familiarized themselves with the list of weapons provided.
BSP leader Kornelia Ninova called on President Rumen Radev to veto the decision.
