As of January 2023, one ticket will be used multiple times within 30 or 60 minutes, respectively, the Urban Mobility Centre said. Paper tickets are to be replaced with electronic tickets. A 30+ ticket will cost BGN 1.60 (80 eurocents) and the 60+ ticket will cost BGN 2,20 (EUR 1.10). Passengers can buy and validate the new electronic tickets with a bank card. Paper tickets purchased before December 31 will be valid until March 1, 2023.
The electronic card for ten trips on the underground railway system will be discontinued, too. The cards already purchased can be used until the end of 2023.
