Alexander Vezenkov is Bulgaria's Sportsperson of the Year 2022

Basketball player Alexander Vezenkov was voted Bulgaria's Sportsperson of the Year 2022 in the 65th traditional poll among sports journalists in the country. Wrestler Kiril Milov and skier Albert Popov rounded out the top three. 102 practicing sports journalists from 40 media outlets voted for the best Bulgarian athletes. 

Wheelchair basketball player Georgi Ivanov was voted No. 1 in the Best Athletes with Disabilities category with 250 points. 

The National Rhythmic Gymnastics Ensemble won first place in the Team of the Year category with 630 points. Their coach Vesela Dimitrova for the fourth time won the title in the traditional poll of the newspaper "Trud" - "Coach of the Year". The national basketball team (men) and the 4x200 meters relay swimming team were second and third in the category with 160 and 120 points.
