Weather forecast for Bulgaria for Sunday, January 1

Warm and sunny New Year

It will be mostly clear and quiet overnight. Minimum temperatures will be between minus 1°C and 4°C, in Sofia around 2°C. 

In the morning there will be low clouds or fog in places along the Danube and in the valleys. 

The first day of 2023 will be sunny throughout Bulgaria. It will be almost calm or with light westerly winds. It will be relatively warm for the period with maximum temperatures between 11°C and 16°C, slightly lower in areas with persistent fog, around 13°C in Sofia. 

In the mountains it will be mostly sunny. There will be light northerly winds, at higher elevations and in open areas - moderate northeasterly winds . The maximum temperature at 1,200 m will be about 11°C, at 2,000 m - about 5°C.
