In Sofia, Bulgarian state-owned gas company Bulgargaz signed an agreement with the Turkish state-owned energy company Botas for access to five LNG terminals and the gas transmission network of Turkey. Up to 1.5 billion cubic meters will be supplied annually. The agreement is valid for a period of 13 years.

The document was signed in the Council of Ministers in the presence of the Ministers of Energy of Bulgaria and Turkey, Rosen Hristov and Fatih Dönmez.

Thanks to the agreement, we have the opportunity to purchase gas from all world producers and unload it in Turkey, caretaker Minister of Energy Rosen Hristov said. He described the agreement as a "historic moment". In 2022, we had serious problems with LNG supplies due to the lack of infrastructure. Now, together with our partners from Turkey, we have solved this problem, Minister Hristov pointed out.

President Rumen Radev also met with the Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Dönmez. President Radev expressed satisfaction that the document was signed less than a month after his meeting with President Recep Erdogan, "This is a historic agreement, as for the first time a foreign company is granted access to Turkish LNG terminals and gas transmission network", said President Radev.
