Direct flights between Sofia and Riyadh to start in April

A direct airline between Sofia and Riyadh is to start operation in April. The news came after a meeting in the Saudi capital between Bulgaria's Minister of Innovation and Growth Alexander Pulev and Economy Minister Nikola Stoyanov with Saudi Minister of Economy Faisal AlIbrahim. It has been established that all airline  opening procedures have been completed. 

A Memorandum of Economic Understanding between Bulgaria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is being prepared. It is reported that in 2021, bilateral trade grew by 1/3 compared to 2020 and was worth 313.2 million dollars.

The Bulgarian business delegation met with representatives of the Public Investment Fund, the largest sovereign Saudi fund, which manages half a trillion dollars.
