Bulgaria shares the 18th place for the most desired passport for international travel with Chile, Croatia and Monaco, according to the 2023 Henley Passport Index ranking

Japan is in 1st place with a score of 193 points, followed by Singapore and South Korea with 192. In the 3rd place are Germany and Spain with a score of 190. The last places are occupied by Afghanistan with a score of 27 and Iraq with 29.

Bulgaria is in 18th place with a score of 174 points. In last year's ranking, Bulgaria was in 17th place with 173 points.

The main indicator on which the ranking is built is the possibility of visa-free free travel around the world with the relevant national passport, while the total number of points indicates the number of countries-destinations to which one can travel without a visa.
