Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said “Russian terror” can only be stopped on the battlefield, after a residential building and energy infrastructure were hit in a new wave of attacks. He added that his forces shot down more than 20 out of 30 Russian missiles fired Saturday.
The death toll from Russia's missile attack on the Ukrainian city of Dnipro has climbed to 18, officials said on Sunday, quoted by Reuters. A 15-year old girl is among the victims, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Governor Valentyn Reznichenko posted on Telegram. Seventy-three injured were rescued from the rubble, local authorities said. Six of them are children.
According to the Ukrainian Operational Command South, a new missile attack is possible on January 15, because the Russian ships in the Black Sea on the 14th fired only half of their loaded Kalibr missiles.
Great Britain will send a squadron of 14 Challenger 2 tanks to Ukraine in the coming weeks and around 30 self-propelled AS90 guns, operated by five gunners, are expected to follow, the British prime minister's office said in a statement. The package of support will include up to four Apache AH64 E "tank killer" helicopters, the most modern version, which can take out multiple targets in secondsthe Mirror reported, citing sources in the British Ministry of Defence.
