Red code alert for strong wind issued for 5 Bulgarian districts, orange code alert declared for 7 districts

It will be very windy in all parts of the country on Thursday, with strong to hurricane force winds. It will be cloudy. It will start raining in Western Bulgaria and the mountains in the evening. It will snow above 1,800 meters. The lowest temperatures will range from 8°C-13°C, for Sofia-around 10°C. Daytime highs will reach 15°C-20°C, for Sofia-around 18°C.

Hurricane-force southwesterly wind is in the forecast for the Black Sea coast. Maximum temperatures will range from 15°C to 20°C. The seawater temperature is 9°C-10°C. Sea swell will be up to 3-4.

Over the mountains there will be strong winds. On higher and open ground there will be hurricane-force southwesterly winds. It will rain over the southern slopes of the massifs. Maximum temperature at an altitude of 1,200 meters will reach 10°C, at 2,000 meter- around 2°C.

On Friday it will rain in all parts of the country. In Western and Southern Bulgaria precipitation will be more significant. Temperatures will drop and the rain will turn to snow.
