Bulgaria is taking part in the international tourism trade fair FITUR in Madrid (January 18-22). It is aimed at mass tourism, as the Spanish capital traditionally hosts one of the most significant events in the tourism sector worldwide.

Our country participates with an information stand, at which there are representatives from the Ministry of Tourism, as well as from the Black Sea municipality of Varna and the medieval capital of Bulgaria - the town of Veliko Tarnovo.

Sofia Airport and seven travel agencies from Bulgaria also aim to attract tourists through the exhibition.

According to information from Nova Duma, the only Bulgarian newspaper published on the Iberian Peninsula, the participants in this year's edition of FITUR are about 8,360 and come from 107 countries, from 5 continents. The exhibition area where the stands are located covers 44,000 sq.m. More than 110,000 visitors are expected, most of them professionals.
