A truck with donations from the Kardzhali region will leave for Edirne tonight for the victims of the devastating earthquake in Turkey.

At one of the donation centres in the city, the flow of people donating food, clothes, shoes and blankets has been non-stop since early in the morning. There are also young children who want to help. According to Kardzhali Mayor Hasan Azis, the tragedy has reached even the youngest.

"I want to thank my fellow citizens, the residents of the municipality of Kardzhali and the district, for this wave of empathy, for this wave of humanity and humanity that we are showing. Obviously, this is the spirit of true good neighbourliness. As Kardzhali is closer to the Turkish border, what we have gathered here will reach Edirne faster.

In Edirne, the aid will be distributed more quickly to the areas affected by the earthquake.
