Charges have been brought against the attacker of Hristiyan Pendikov in Ohrid

The prosecutor's office in Ohrid has brought charges against the attacker of 21-year-old Hristiyan Pendikov, secretary of the local Bulgarian association, who was beaten on January 19, BGNES reported.

The indictment says the attack was motivated by national and ethnic hatred, and the attacker was charged with grievous bodily harm. After the beating, Pendikov, who openly expresses his Bulgarian ethnicity, was transferred by plane for treatment in Sofia to the Medical Academy, where he underwent surgery.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Demerdzhiev met with Pendikov and promised that he would be provided with security, as well as that he would continue to closely monitor the case of his attack. During his last visits to Skopje, Demerdzhiev asked the Interior Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia, Oliver Spasovski, for all the details regarding the progress of the investigation. The vice president has also provided all the data on the threats that Pendikov received after his arrival in Sofia.
