Rumen Radev: The modernization of Bulgaria requires an effective judicial system

At a meeting with the head of the Office for Coordination of Sanctions in the US State Department, Jim O'Brien, President Rumen Radev discussed the sanctions imposed on Bulgarian citizens as part of the actions of the US and Great Britain to protect their financial systems, the press center of the presidency reported. 

"The modernization of Bulgaria requires transparency of the legislative process and effective work of the judicial system," the head of state said. 

He expressed his appreciation for the international support that Bulgaria in the fight against corruption. He also emphasized the need for the next National Assembly to make the adoption of anti-corruption legislation a priority, as well as the existence of partnership and exchange of information between law enforcement institutions and Bulgaria's allies in the fight against corruption. 

The talks at the presidential institution were also attended by Vice President Iliana Iotova as well as the US and UK ambassadors Herro Mustafa and Rob Dixon.
