Bulgaria is among the countries with the highest number of road deaths in the EU

The most dangerous roads are in Romania and Bulgaria, the safest - in Sweden and Denmark. This is indicated by a report of the European Commission, transmitted from Brussels by BNR correspondent Angelina Piskova. 

In Bulgaria, road traffic fatalities for 2022 are 78 per 1 million inhabitants, compared to the EU average of 46 people. 

The situation is worse only in Romania with 86 victims per 1 million inhabitants. 

For comparison, in Sweden, deaths are 21 per 1 million people.
