The State Agency for Child Protection has called on all participants in the April 2 elections not to involve children in political campaigning or use them for political purposes. Doing so could lead to a violation of their privacy, the agency said, citing examples from previous election campaigns in which children's personal stories and details were revealed through photo and video images and mention of their names.
"Let's put the interests of children and their rights above all other goals," Dr Teodora Ivanova, Secretary General of the agency, appealed to politicians and journalists.
