Farmers protest against a wind farm

Photo: BTA

Protesting farmers and residents of Valchi Dol, near Varna, closed the road to Varna for 15 minutes because of an investment intention for building a wind farm with 50 turbines. The protest was also against the import of Ukrainian agricultural products.

Protesters stopped 50 tractors on the road and declared that they would not stop the protests because the wind farm would be built on agricultural land and could cause damage to the environment in the region, BNR correspondent Daniela Stoynova reported.
