"Bulgaria will not send a military contingent to Ukraine. No Bulgarian soldier will set foot there as long as the caretaker government is in power", caretaker Minister of Defence Dimitar Stoyanov said at the National Military University in Veliko Tarnovo.

He assured that no mobilization process was taking place. According to Minister Stoyanov, military verifications take place every year in the military districts. “Following the decision of the National Assembly, Bulgaria will send one staff officer to Belgium, staff officers to Poland and up to 50 servicemen, if necessary, for participation in the EU Military Assistance Mission (EUMAM) in Poland”, said Minister Stoyanov.
