A conference on the topic "Bulgaria and Romania - European integration the hard way?" will be held today in the House of Europe in central Sofia. Among the questions that will be discussed are: Bulgaria and Romania have been members of the EU for 16 years, but have they really integrated into this union, which is their family? Do both countries have friends in the EU? Are Bulgaria and Romania trying to participate in the formation of EU policies or are they learning about their consequences too late?

Among the participants in the forum are MEPs Ilhan Kyuchuk /Bulgaria/, Vlad Botoș  /Romania/, Eva-Maria Poptcheva /Spain/, Bulgaria's Vice Prime Minister for European funds management Atanas Pekanov and others.
