Bulgaria’s Minister of Health Assen Medzhidiev and his Polish counterpart Adam Niedzielski are to give a briefing at the Ministry of Health this afternoon. The Polish delegation, headed by Minister Niedzielski, is visiting Bulgaria at the invitation of Minister Medzhidiev. Assen Medzhidiev invited Adam Niedzielski to visit Bulgaria during the Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council on March 13 and 14 in Brussels.

Bulgaria, Poland, Lithuania, and Hungary demanded that the European Commission renegotiate the conditions for the supply of COVID-19 vaccines manufactured by Pfizer. The health ministers of the four countries tabled a joint request during an EU Council meeting on March 14. According to the four countries, the contract must take into account the needs and specificities of all EU countries. "Bulgaria's needs for Covid-19 vaccines are fully met, the storage possibilities are exhausted, there is no need for new supplies", Assen Medzhidiev said.
