Bulgarian grain growers are ready to protest in Brussels if the European Union does not take measures to address the flow of wheat and sunflower from Ukraine. The Chairman of the Bulgarian Agrarian Chamber Kostadin Kostadinov said for the BNT that the only solution is to stop imports from Ukraine or to adopt measures to ensure that Ukrainian produce transits the country, which matches the philosophy behind the grain corridors. Poland, Hungary and Slovakia have already banned grain imports from Ukraine. However, the European Commission described as unacceptable these import bans and again promised to pay compensations.

"We demand transit fees or measures aimed to secure these corridors, which is more essential than the funds available", said Kostadin Kostadinov.
