French company to invest over EUR 28 million in malt plant in Pleven

The construction is beginning in Pleven of a new malt plant on a 56 million Leva (EUR 28.6 million) French investment.

The aim of the enterprise, which is to begin production in 2024, is to meet the most modern production standards for productivity, safety and energy efficiency. 40% of the electricity necessary will be generated by photovoltaic park which will reduce the carbon footprint by over 1,700 tons of emissions a year.

At the opening, French ambassador to this country Joel Meyer stated that the investment would reinforce the entire ecosystem spanning farmers, end users, brewers, and the entire region.
