Politically motivated convictions against Macedonian Bulgarians are expected, FM says

Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikolay Milkov said there would be no common commemoration with North Macedonia on the occasion of 120 years after Gotse Delchev's death on May 4. He expects that those Bulgarians who wish to commemorate Delchev in Skopje, would face the same problems like the ones in February, when the anniversary of the revolutionary’s birth was celebrated.

The minister also expects politically-motivated convictions against Macedonian Bulgarians. "Last week they brought charges against Tome Blazevski, who is the chairman of the Tsar Boris III cultural center in Ohrid, after literally the same charges were brought against Lubcho Georgievski from the center in Bitola. If these charges are confirmed by the court, we will perhaps have the first political prisoners in North Macedonia," the minister said.
