President Rumen Radev did not say when he is going to hand GERB/SDS the first exploratory mandate for the formation of a government, but he did warn that that the time window of the 49th National Assembly could close quickly unless a cabinet is formed.

“I expect there to be dialogue, a willingness to compromise,” Rumen Radev stated, and added that the Constitution does not set down a deadline for handing over the first mandate, but that this process cannot be stretched out indefinitely. Everyone is expecting parliament to produce laws not scandal, the president said.

After it took parliament a whole week to elect a president of the 49th National Assembly, it has now been three days since they have been trying to approve the parliamentary rules of organization and procedure.
