Authorities investigate incident with the Attorney General's motorcade

On May 1, at noon, there was an accident with the motorcade of Bulgaria's chief prosecutor at a sharp turn from the Sofia - Samokov road. No one was injured, reported the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior, Petar Todorov. The road is closed at the Yarema pass. An investigation is underway. According to eyewitnesses, a powerful explosion was heard in the heavy rain.


On May 2, Bulgaria's caretaker Prime Minister Galab Donev will hold a meeting with Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev, with officials from the secret services and the Prosecutor's Office. After summarizing the information, it will be decided what measures will be taken, said Todorov.

The motorcade was travelling to Turkey. Chief prosecutor Ivan Geshev decided to visit an event of junior prosecutors on the way when a bomb was blown up, BNT reported.
