The Panagyurishte Treasure will take part at the exhibition "Luxury and Power: From Persia to Greece" at the British Museum in London. The exhibition traces the relationship between wealth and politics in the first millennium BC. The exhibition will be officially opened on 4 May and will be open to visitors for three months.
The Panagyurishte Treasure dates from the end of the 4th and the beginning of the 3rd centuries BC and consists of nine solid gold vessels, including seven rhyta, a rare amphora rhyton and a phiale. Each of the vessels is believed to have been used for feasts and religious sacraments and rituals associated with Thracian mythology.
