The government continues work on establishing a center for emergency medical assistance, Minister of Health Asen Medzhidiev said. From May 15, sixty people will be working in the structure.
On the territory of the country there will be 5 air ambulance bases - in Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Dolna Mitropolia and Yambol. Training of the medics who will be on duty starts on May 8. Minister Medzhidiev expects that the landing sites for the helicopters will be ready by the end of July. He hopes that by then two helicopters will be delivered to Bulgaria under this program with foreign pilots and technicians.
