Tokyo 2020 Olympic karate champions Ivet Goranova (Bulgaria), Jovana Prekovic (Serbia) and Feryal Abdelaziz (Egypt) are launching a campaign aimed to bring karate back to the Olympic programme of the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

The three gold medalists signed a letter requesting a meeting with International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach. "He will be coming to Bulgaria and we will seize the chance to meet him," Ivet Goranova said in an interview with the BNR. The three champions will also send the letter all national karate federations to seek international support for the return of their sport to the Olympic programme.
